Missions
The missions committee
was formed in October 1998 and is lead by Mabel Henderson and Jean
Wemmer. A report on missions is given to the congregation every
third Sunday of the month to give an update about our Romanian
orphan and a highlighted missionaries' activities and their continued need for
prayer. Please pray daily for our missionaries for they are bringing the Word of God around the world and are the outstretched arms of our organization.
The purpose of the mission ministry is to acquaint our church
family with the missionaries around the world whom we, as a
church body support. We are here to encourage members to pray
for missionaries, their families and their adopted countries;
Christian growth of new converts; pray for the establishment of
churches with local leaders; pray for concrete churches and to
allow missionaries to move onto new mission fields; write to our
missionaries with encouragement, birthday cards and anniversary
cards. To say to missionary that "I pray for you every
day!" is music to their ears and peace to their hearts.
Our goal is to see each member of our church body with a heart
for prayer and support for our missionary families. Our hope is
to bring the lives of our missionaries real to the people in our
congregation and to allow and encourage missionaries to stem from
our own church body
Currently we are supporting Tamas Tari in Romania. He is an orphan child funded by us through Kidstown Romania. This gift provides Tamas Tari with adequate food, clothing, medical attention, proper living conditions and Christian schooling. Tamas sends letters on occasions, but they can take up to two months or even more for translation and mailing time. Prayers are encouraged for Tamas as he grows in Christ.
The following missionaries are supported in part by the donations
of people at Nooksack Valley Assembly of God. You can find out more about these missionaries and more at http://agmd.org/ Get to know their faces and were they are located. Pray for them for their ministry
is the fulfillment of the great commission.
